Daniel Laurent

Daniel Laurent served as the scientific advisor to Claude Bébéar, honorary president of AXA, and worked as a special advisor at the Institut Montaigne. Today, he is the special advisor to Michaël Fribourg, CEO of Chargeurs.

A university professor specializing in computer science, Daniel Laurent holds a state doctorate in sciences in the field of graph theory applied to chemistry.

From 1976 to 1978, he was deputy director of the office of the Minister of Universities, and was subsequently appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Universities of Paris (1978–1981). Charged with creating the University of Marne-la-Vallée, he served as its president from 1989 to 1996. More recently, he was a member of the "University-Employment" commission and co-chair of the monitoring committee on internships and the professionalization of university curricula established by Valérie Pécresse and Xavier Bertrand. Daniel Laurent is also the author of the Institut Montaigne ranking dedicated to university laboratories and departments.
